ABOUT
HTS is a family-owned and run business beginning as a one truck, one operator business in the early 1970s. We first started carrying steel in Port Kembla for what was then the BHP Steelworks. Since starting over 50 years ago, the business has grown steadily with a deliberate focus on Safety, Customer Service, Innovation, Flexibility and Sustainability. The company now has substantial contracts with Major Blue-chip clients in the Industrial Sector. Our current fleet comprises of over 200 truck and trailer combinations which consist of flat tops, tautliners, aluminium b-double tippers, aluminium dog trailers and a range of steel body tippers, excavators as well as front end loaders, plus a network of over 30 subcontractors. Our aim is ZERO HARM at all times. This approach starts at the Managing Director and goes all the way through to the frontline operators to ensure the safety of our staff, subcontractors, customers and the general public.

Hornby Transport Services recognises the importance of providing all employees, contractors and customers with a safe and healthy work environment. Safety and compliance are paramount to the daily operation at the HTS business. Our aim towards the goal ZERO HARM is our first priority to ensure the elimination of all injuries, occupational illnesses and preventable vehicular incidents. HTS understands the importance and need for safety and compliance within the transport industry. As a result, HTS has a dedicated WHS Manager and Compliance Manager that oversee the overall operation of the business.

HTS are accredited in the Truck Safe industry program and are an NHVR accredited operator. These accreditations include modules covering vehicle maintenance, fatigue, mass management and administration. HTS has also been exclusively accredited for Advanced Fatigue Management, allowing the training and development of targeted employees.
The approach HTS have toward the goal of continual improvement ensures the identification and reduction of key risks in all types of work activities that have the potential to produce personal injury or occupational illness. HTS establish measurable objectives and targets for safety and compliance to ensure the continuous improvement aimed at eliminating keys risks.
HTS provide instruction, training and supervision to improve employee understanding of workplace hazards, including safe work practices and emergency procedures. Communicating safety and compliance information to all employees, contractors and customers ensures that HTS succeed in promoting a safe and healthy working environment.
